The programme

Academic Computer Science, taught one to one

Structured lessons, assignments and projects that follow the Computer Science your child is studying at school — AP CSA in Java, AP CSP in Python — delivered live by a dedicated mentor.

A student working through her school Computer Science curriculum with a 1:1 online mentor
AP first

Built for AP & school exams

Every course maps onto the curriculum your child already sits.

  • AP CSA — Java, OOP and algorithms
  • AP CSP — Python, data and the Create Task
  • Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A Level
  • IB MYP and Diploma Programme

Projects & assessment

Graded work, not just lessons

Each course ends with assessed work your child can show.

  • AP-style multiple choice and free response
  • Java and Python coding assignments
  • Unit projects and mini capstones
  • A growing programming portfolio
Curriculum alignment

AP first — and aligned to every major board

Courses support the concepts commonly introduced across international Computer Science curricula. Exact coverage varies by school, so mentors adapt each plan to your child's syllabus.

Advanced Placement · Primary focus

AP Computer Science A & Principles

AP CSA is taught in Java — classes, objects, inheritance, arrays, ArrayLists, recursion and the algorithms the exam expects. AP CSP is taught in Python — abstraction, algorithms, data, the internet and the Create Task.

The two AP languages

Java and Python, taught as academic subjects

AP Computer Science A is examined in Java. AP Computer Science Principles is taught in Python. Students learn both properly — as languages, not as tools for a single project.

Python

AP CSP · IGCSE · IB

The first text-based language students learn, and the one AP CSP, IGCSE and IB coursework are usually written in.

  • Variables, conditions, loops and functions
  • Lists, dictionaries, strings and file handling
  • Modular programming, testing and debugging
  • Object-oriented Python and data structures
  • Data handling, visualisation and the AP CSP Create Task
Taught in: Courses 02–05, then applied through to Course 08

Java

AP CSA · A Level · IB

The language of the AP Computer Science A exam. Introduced once students are fluent in Python, so the focus stays on design rather than syntax.

  • Classes, objects, constructors and encapsulation
  • Inheritance, polymorphism and interfaces
  • Arrays, 2D arrays and ArrayLists
  • Recursion, searching and sorting algorithms
  • AP CSA free-response technique and past papers
Taught in: Courses 05–08, with dedicated AP CSA exam practice
The pathway

Eight academic courses, Grade 5 to AP

Python starts at Course 02 and Java enters at Course 05, where AP CSP and AP CSA preparation begins in earnest. Students can join at the level that matches their grade and experience.
